PARKER LIBRARY

The Parker Library is organized to support, strengthen and broaden the educational and spiritual life of our faith community.

Growth of Library
This year we have added many new books to support the needs of the Christian Education Program. In April we held a Book Shower. Through generous donations of money and books we were able to obtain several books, which trace the history of the bible and the geography of the lands with colored photographs, maps and charts.

Donations
Our fall sale of books donated by the Hartman family provided funds for teen study and inspirational bibles, stories and people of the bible books and world religion materials.

Caroline Schulze donated many Veggie Tales VCRs and a collection of children’s fiction books to commemorate the celebration of her marriage.

Book Donation Program
The library committee will be initiating a book donation program where anyone can donate a book in honor of a birthday, birth, marriage or any special occasion.  The donation will be recognized with a bookplate naming the donor and occasion.  The library committee will have a wish list from which to choose books.

This Year’s Goal
This year our goal is to add more Christian parenting materials and
subscriptions to monthly Christian magazines for adults and young adults. We will continue to encourage the use of the library by children with a book sticker incentive program. Monthly newsletter entries will highlight books and encourage adults to visit the Parker Library with their children.
